Over the past several years, there has been a significant shift in the tastes of Indian customers when it comes to purchasing new automobiles. India has changed from being a market that was strictly centered on tiny mass-market automobiles to one that is rapidly expanding for larger, premium vehicles, including super luxury and sports cars. Keeping an eye on it, McLaren Automotive predicts a 30% rise in the nation’s super sportscar market by 2024.

According to a British luxury manufacturer that joined the Indian market in November 2022, the super sports vehicle market in India is expected to rise by 30% this year, as reported by PTI. The McLaren 750S was just released in India, with a staggering price tag of ₹5.91 crore (ex-showroom). The super sportscar maker plans to ship about 20 of these vehicles to clients in the nation in 2024, following a setback caused by supply chain difficulties in the previous year.

While 2023 was a better year for the super sportscar market in India, according to Lalit Choudary, Chairman and Managing Director of Infinity Cars, the official dealer for McLaren Automotive in India, the UK-based automaker believes 2024 would still be a better year. The automobiles in this sector, which start at above ₹4-5 crore, had a solid gain last year as well. According to the volume, 2021 was somewhat of a starting year after COVID, and 2022 was a successful year, he continued.

He stated that McLaren hopes to ship up to 20 vehicles to Indian clients, pointing out that the super sportscar market might rise by 30% in 2024. There was a little dip in sales the previous year. The changeover from one model to the next resulted in a few months of manufacturing lag. Therefore, we would like to produce perhaps 20 or so automobiles this year,” Choudary continued. He said that there are already roughly thirty McLaren vehicles on Indian roadways.

The British luxury automobile manufacturer now offers three models in the Indian market, including the GT and Artura hybrid, thanks to the launch of the 750S.
